Mystic Beach

A beautiful piece of Vancouver Island awaits your visit.

If you are planning to visit Mystic Beach (part of the Juan De Fuca trail) for a camping trip, be sure you are prepared for some rugged hiking to get there. The trail down to the beach is a 2km hike through lots of mud, thick rooted trees, and some steep climbs.

We didn't realise just how far it would be and were not prepared at all for this kind of hike in camping trip (we bought may too much stuff)

After struggling our way down to the beach however we were met with spectacular views of the ocean and the mountains. We found a great little spot to set up camp, just up the embankment off the rocky beach area, with great views ahead of us. Towards to east side of the beach is the little hanging waterfall which I think adds to the name "Mystic Beach", further along the west of the beach you can venture through sandy caves and climb the rocks. There is also the Juan De Fuca trail which leads you towards Port Renfrew about 47km away.

Camping and parking does come with a fee ($10 per night) so bring cash if you plan to camp here.

This place is definitely worth a visit as its truly beautiful and probably one of my new favourite spots here on Vancouver Island.
