Hornby Island

Getting to Hornby Island from Victoria is an adventure in itself! We drove 2.5 hours to Buckley Bay on central Vancouver Island where we caught a ferry over to Denman Island, followed by a short drive across this small Gulf Island, before catching another ferry over to Hornby Island. The ferry rides all up take about an hour, plus driving time. Once we reached Hornby Island, it felt as though we had been transported into another world, everything felt so peaceful and untouched, a true piece of paradise! We camped at Tribune Bay campground, an adorable private campground which was only a short walk across to the famous Tribune bay beach! Unfortunately while we were there it was a total fire ban and we weren't able to enjoy a campfire in the evenings (one of my favourite things about camping.) We did however spend our days there on the beach, playing frisbee, and exploring the local Farmers Market and winery! I loved my time on Hornby Island, and with only two nights I felt our time was too short! I would definitely recommend if you do plan to go, that you take at least three-nights to really get the chance to relax and enjoy all that this beautiful island has to offer!

Paradise!
